Two Blindspot records artists will be performing at this year's San Diego Beatles Fair being held at Queen Bee's in North park / San Diego on March 26. The Dave Humphries Band and True Stories will join a great bill that includes former Moody Blues / Wings member Denny Laine,

Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey can be heard on Taz Taylor's track, "Straight Up," on the compilation album Staring at the Sun X
Flogging Molly's Matt Hensley performs on the Skelpin album, A Trip To Skye, as well as the Patric Petrie album, Transit of Venus.
Stevie Ray Vaughn's Rhythm section, Double Trouble (Tommy Shannon & Chris Layton) appear on Scott West's track "Stevie Ray" as heard on the compilation album Staring at the Sun X.
Meanwhile Staring at the Sun XI included two tracks from Scott West:

Johnny Vernazza's album, Lions and Thieves features an all star cast including blues legend Elvin Bishop and country music icon Charlie Daniels and ace guitarist Albert Lee (Hot Band, Clapton, Everly Brothers etc). That's Johnny Vernazza playing guitar on the 70's Elvin Bishop Group classic, "Fooled Around and Fell in Love."
Dave Humphries played with Tony Sheridan numerous times - his recordings with Humphries were likely the last studio recordings and the first in decades to not harken back to his early days in rock 'n' roll. Here is a song featuring guitar and backing vocals from Sheridan, as heard on Humphries album, Retro.

Normandie Wilson will have an art show at the Lafayette Hotel in San Diego on April 21. Making the event extra special, the night will have a soundtrack from The Joyelles, featuring guitarist David Fleminger! Best of all the whole thing is free and all ages-

Great news for Marie Haddad fans! She is currently at Singing Serpent Studios recording with Ben Moore at the console and Matt Lynott on drums / Dave Carpenter on bass. We'll keep you posted on any release dates as work progresses. In the meantime, Marie recently wrote the music for the Patio Playhouse production of Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation. Blindspot Records will once again host the Smitty's Garage Stage on June 4 as well as help put together the other stages. Bands will be announced mid-April. The event takes place along Adams Avenue, in the City Heights, Kensington area, with multiple, free, outdoor stages and art exhibits. Make plans to spend the day with us - you will have fun!
True Stories will perform a special Ringo Starr Tribute at Beatles Fair 2016 being held at Queen Bee in San Diego / North Park on March 26! Taking the vocal will be Baja Bugs drummer Nico Peters for a set of songs that range from Ringo's Beatles classics to his solo years and even a couple of his terrific new tunes. Other performers taking part include Denny Laine (of Wings / The Moody Blues) , The Rollers, Dave Humphries, The Baja Bugs, Cody Lovaas and more! Legendary blues guitarist Johnny Vernazza will be a special performer at the 2016 Gator by The Bay Festival, being held in San Diego's Marina Park on May 5-8. Vernazza was guitarist with the Elvin Bishop Group during thier hitmaking seventies heyday, including the classic tune "Fooled Around and Felled In Love," as featured in the hit movie, Guardians of the Galaxy. His latest Blindspot Records album, Lions and Thieves is essential listening for fans of the blues.

Every fourth Sunday you can find Dave and his musical friends playing his songs alongside classic by the Beatles, Badfinger, Dylan and more! Celtic powerhouse Skelpin, featuring fiery fiddler Patric Petrie will perform at San Diego's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Balboa Park on Saturday March 12. The band performs on the mainstage at 3:45. The band, which also includes multi-instrumentalist Tim Foley, bassist Wes Forsberg, percussionist Enrique Platas and guitarist Jimmy Patton was recently in the studio with Flogging Molly accordionist Matt Hensley recording two tracks: The theme to a podcast as well as a track set to be included on the next edition of San Diego music compilation, Staring at the Sun. Normandie Wilson is performing every Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the historic Lafayette Hotel in San Diego's North Park neighborhood. Casual, free and all ages, she performs in the hotel lobby next to the scenic pool, performing all manner of classic pop tunes (Bacharach a specialty) on the grand piano.
